CAPITOL HILL (AP) _ A key House Democrat is warning that the
administration‘s Iraq policy has left the U.S. without enough
resources to protect itself from attack. The comment from the House
Armed Services Committee‘s top Democrat, Ike Skelton, came at the
start of a second day of testimony by General David Petraeus, the
top U.S. commander in Iraq, and U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Leaders of San Francisco‘s famed Chinatown
are appealing for a peaceful torch relay today. The Olympic torch
is making its only U.S. appearance. Security is very tight,
following disturbances that marred earlier relays in London and
Paris. Protesters have been denouncing the human rights record of
host country China.

NAHAL OZ, Israel (AP) _ Israel‘s army says two Israelis have
been killed in a daring daylight raid by militants who crossed into
southern Israel from Gaza. Troops gave chase as the Palestinians
fled back across the border, killing at least one of them. Hamas
has been threatening to try to end Israel‘s blockade of the Gaza
Strip.

CHICAGO (AP) _ The wait just got longer for the long-awaited
787. Boeing now says its new jetliner won‘t be ready for its
commercial debut until the second half of next year. It‘s the forth
time the schedule has been pushed back because of supply problems.
First flight for the new jet is now expected late this year.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks are mixed in early trading. Investors
don‘t seem to be fazed by a first-quarter profit warning from UPS.
The world‘s largest shipping carrier is citing a weaker economy and
higher fuel costs.
