SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Officials in San Francisco say they‘re
prepared to make last minute changes, if need be, in the route of
the Olympic torch today. San Francisco, with its famed Chinatown,

relay disruptions in London and China targeting the human rights
record of host country China.

CAPITOL HILL (AP) _ Capitol Hill continues wrestling with the
war in Iraq, with more testimony coming today from the people in
charge of running it. General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan

fighting. They said security gains could unravel if more troops are
pulled out.

DALLAS (AP) _ American Airlines is having to re-check the wiring
on hundreds of jets that were checked just two weeks ago. Federal

yesterday.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) _ Lawyers with the legal defense group
Innocence Project want authorities to revoke the medical license of
a Mississippi pathologist. They accuse Steven Hayne of
``misconduct, incompetence and fraud,‘‘ saying he‘s sent innocent
people to death row. In one case that was tossed out, Hayne
testified that a victim had human bite marks. Other experts later
said they could have been caused by insects or crayfish.

NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks seem poised to open without much change
today. Investors are waiting for remarks later today from Fed chief
