^Seven dead in Iraq attack...Torch hounded...Airline delay<

BAGHDAD (AP) _ A least seven people, including three children,
are dead from fighting in Baghdad, as the city marks the fifth
anniversary of the fall of Saddam Hussein‘s regime. They were
killed when projectiles slammed into their house in the Shiite
district of Sadr City. The U.S.-protected Green Zone has also come
under attack.

CAPITOL HILL (AP) _ Congressional Democrats want the government
of Iraq to shoulder more of the cost of the war, taking some of the
burden off American taxpayers. They cite a surplus in Iraq‘s oil
revenue. A group called the National Priorities Project says the
U.S. cost has climbed past a-half trillion dollars.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ The torch relay for this summer‘s Beijing
Olympics is due to make its only American stop today. Police and
protesters are expecting a kind of cat-and-mouse game as the torch
is run through San Francisco. Leaders of the city‘s famed Chinatown
say they hope demonstrators won‘t spoil the event.

DALLAS (AP) _ For the second time in two weeks, American
Airlines is under government orders to inspect the wiring in some
of its jets. About 500 flights were canceled yesterday for the
inspections. More disruptions are likely today.

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Score one for a high-school kid. Kearny, New
Jersey, senior Matthew LaClair complained that a popular textbook
called American Government is politically biased. Among other
things, it disputes evidence of global warming. Legal scholars and
top scientists agree with LaClair and the publisher promises a
review.
