     CAPITOL HILL (AP) _ The top American general and diplomat in
Iraq will both be quizzed by a House committee this morning.
General David Petraeus told a Senate panel yesterday that he‘s
recommending to President Bush that troop drawdowns take a pause
after July. Bush is expected to go along with that plan.

     ELDORADO, Texas (AP) _ Court papers reveal that a number of
teenage girls at the polygamist compound in Texas are pregnant.
Authorities also allege that sexual abuse was a common occurrence,
with girls being spiritually married to much older men as soon they
reached puberty. More than 400 children have been removed from the
compound.

     SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Today‘s Olympic torch run through San
Francisco won‘t just draw demonstrators angry about China‘s human
rights record. Other activists are expected, including nudists who
want a return to the way the ancient Greek games were played.

     MARSHALL, Minn. (AP) _ The woman charged in a Minnesota school
bus crash that left four students dead is speaking out. She tells
the Star Tribune of Minneapolis that her boyfriend was driving the
van that crashed into the bus and she was just a passenger.
Authorities say they haven‘t been able to confirm her story. The
woman‘s charged with vehicular homicide.

     LOS ANGELES (AP) _ A former employee at a Los Angeles hospital
who allegedly peeked at records of celebrity patients tells the Los
Angeles Times says she was just ``being nosy‘‘ and didn‘t leak any
information or make money from it. Hospital officials say the
employee resigned before they could fire her.
