^Iraq anniversary...Air travel problem...Torch hidden<

CAPITOL HILL (AP) _ On the fifth anniversary of the capture of
Baghdad, the top ground commander in the war will testify before
Congress for a second day in a row. General David Petraeus
(peh-TRAY‘-uhs) is calling for an indefinite halt in troop
reductions this summer so officials can review security.

DALLAS (AP) _ American Airlines is going to be making alternate
travel arrangements for some of its passengers today as it
continues a government-ordered reinspection of wiring on MD-80s.
Passengers were bumped from about 500 canceled flights yesterday.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ The Olympic torch today makes it‘s only
American appearance. Since its arrival in San Francisco yesterday,
it has been held at an undisclosed location. Security is very tight
because of earlier disruptions in London and Paris from people
protesting the human rights record of Olympic host China.

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Final arguments are set for tomorrow in Los
Angeles in the trial of two women charged with murdering two
homeless men to collect millions in life insurance. Olga
Rutterschmidt is 75. Helen Golay is 77. Prosecutors say they
befriended the men, took out insurance on them, then ran them down
to make it look like a hit-and-run.

VOLCANO, Hawaii (AP) _ There‘s no sightseeing at one of the most
spectacular tourist attractions in Hawaii. It has been closed.
Two-thousand people have been chased away from the Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park on the Big Island because of sulfur dioxide fumes.
They‘re hoping to reopen the park today, depending on the weather.
