The dust storm that closed I-15 for hours Saturday afternoon and early evening near Idaho Falls might have thrown a damper in the travel plans of the Montana Grizzlies but any Beachliner time could just serve to extend the team’s enjoyment of a second consecutive Big Sky Conference road victory.

According to head coach Bob Stitt’s comments on the post game show on Learfield bus time is nothing but beneficial to provide more team growth.

And there won’t be any love lost after this Griz win as former Griz assistant Rob Phenicie complained to the press about Montana’s dirty play and Stitt announced on the radio that the Grizzlies just were better than the Bengals and all they were able to do was hang around for the first half.

Gee whatever happened to that theory that you respect all opponents and fear none.

Guess it’s a good thing the two teams don’t play each other again until 2019.

Getting off the halftime deck when they trailed by eight to throw up 26 second half points for an eight point win developed some Montana momentum heading into homecoming next Saturday against North Dakota.

And for the Bengals a chance to validate the team’s alleged turnaround fell by the wayside for another day.

Montana redshirt freshman Gresch Jensen continues to mature with added game time and connected on four TDs via the airways completing 23 of 35 for 360 in addition to scoring once himself on the ground.

IMO made a rare visit to Bozeman on a pre-game night for the unveiling of the Montana Football Hall of Fame.

Everyone should realize this is not a product of any in-state school and now in its third year has a permanent home and name sponsor in Universal Athletic.

Nine new inductees were announced Friday to be inducted in Billings in March.

They include posthumous recognition for Montana Terry Dillon and Bobcat Bill Glennon.

Sam Jankovich was named as a contributor and joined Montana’s Guy Bingham, Rocky Klever, and Doug Betters, Carroll’s Casey Fitzsimmons and MSU Corey Widmer and Sam McCullum.
